Information You Enter
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Monterey Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those queries on its own servers. If you send a message, the contact mailbox receives the contents needed to answer it.
Information Collected Automatically
Hosting services may record routine server-log details such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time stamps. Those details are reviewed in aggregate for site operation and audience trends. Cookies or similar tools may be used for basic analytics and, when present, advertising measurement.
How the Data Is Used
Data is used to operate the service, diagnose faults, measure traffic, and improve the pages. Visitor lists are not sold, and the service does not create individual user profiles.
External Records Links
Pages link to Monterey County and California records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Once you leave this service, the linked provider's privacy policy controls what you submit. The sponsored results box is also supplied by a separate company.
Who May Receive It
Hosting and support providers may process server logs while keeping the service available. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Disclosure otherwise occurs only when a valid legal process requires it.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described above. Because there are no user accounts, this service does not hold a password or personal profile for you.
Children and Teens
Monterey Residents Directory is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor submitted information so it can be removed.
Your California Privacy Choices
California's CCPA and CPRA, Civil Code ยง1798.100 and following sections, can provide rights to know, access, correct, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain sensitive-data uses, and avoid discrimination. California's DROP system opened to consumers on January 1, 2026, with registered-broker deletion processing scheduled to begin August 1, 2026. Because this service keeps little data, a request usually means checking the contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Monterey County, City of Monterey, and California public records are outside this service's control; requests for those belong with the record custodian.
Policy Changes
Changes to this policy will appear on this page. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
